THERE is less than a fortnight to the federal election and the major parties have stepped up their bid for voters’ support in Indi.
Labor candidate Robyn Walsh will today make an announcement in Rutherglen, the second regional development announcement offered by Labor in the electorate in less than a week.
Meanwhile, the Coalition duo of Sophie Mirabella in Indi and Sussan Ley in Farrer have already offered voters the promise of a $5 million cardiac centre for Albury Wodonga Health.
Mrs Mirabella has also welcomed five high-profile colleagues to the electorate as she aims to protect her stake in Indi from the challenge by independent Cathy McGowan.
The 2013 poll is being run as a very different election race in Indi from those previously faced by Mrs Mirabella with a serious challenge offered by Ms McGowan.
That means voters can expect the major parties will continue to take notice of the Indi race during the remaining 13 days of the campaign and all stops will be pulled out in a bid to win their support.
Voters and their questions will also be the focus of tonight’s candidates’ forum at The Cube in Wodonga.
