Elderly man bashed by teens at North Nowra

An elderly man was injured when he was brutally based by two teenagers in North Nowra last night.

The 76-year-old man was on his daily walk around 6.30pm on Sunday when he noticed two teenage boys following him on Pitt Street.

The man continued walking on to Page Avenue when one of the teens assaulted him near the intersection of Goolagong Street.

The elderly victim was punched to the ground and his head was pushed into the concrete gutter. His head was stomped on before one the teens stole the man’s wallet and started to run away.

When the victim cried for help, one of the perpetrators returned and kicked him several times.

Shoalhaven police attended the scene but were unable to find the offenders.

The elderly man was taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital where he was being treated for head injuries.

The teenagers are described as both of Caucasian appearance, between 160-170 centimetres tall and wearing hooded jumpers.
