LOCAL MPs have promised that if elected the Coalition government will fund a $5 million cardiac laboratory at the Albury hospital.
However, as in all election promises there is the question: When will the funding be available?
Will it be in the first three years of the Coalition’s term?
The local MPs, or in fact any MP, who makes a promise to provide a facility, the time the funding is to be made available is the important issue.
The other issue is why does it take an election to spur on the government to promise to provide new services that do not exist at the time an election is called?
Next time a pollie makes a promise as above, call out and ask when.
